we’ll be back, don’t you worry…
Day 3 in Sri Lanka, a very wet, drizzly, early morning. A few last impressions of The Grand Hotel in Nuwara Eliya, (where we spent a very comfortable two nights)before leaving for Kandy.

Gorgeous! I can see why you’ll be back, Munira. I like how you put the sideways pictures in, too. And the closeup. And the landscape. Oh, it’s all beautiful.

Thank you Kathy! Such a lovely, atmospheric place. Leaving felt like sacrilege and heartbreak.

The Grand certainly is the grandest in Nuwara Eliya. Old-world charm oozed from every crevice, and each person we encountered among the staff was the perfect combination of warmth and friendliness! The room we stayed in was spacious and high-ceilinged, lovely peaceful views (as you saw in the previous post) and hot water was quick to arrive in the shower 🙂 And oh…..the breakfasts and dinners we had there…..wonderful, delicious spreads! No wonder it was packed with tourists. Our Pakistani/Srilankan friend Aziza suggested the place and I’m so glad she did. 🙂
